Job Title: Payment and Adjustment Poster


Job Summary:

Responsible for posting hardcopy checks rec’d via mail or interoffice. Process all electronic payments, remits, and lockboxes. Reconciliation of daily cash must be balanced out by end of the day. Works discrepancies and any other reports relating to cash. Interacts with accounting departments relating to cash. Reports to CBO Manager/Supervisor, and or CBO Director
Essential Job Duties:
 Processes daily cash and post cash for all facilities
 Post new A/R and old A/R on a daily basis.
 Post-contractual adjustments for all payors and patient types timely
 Reviews all payments and adjustments before posting to A/R and make necessary adjustments for debits and credits.
 Assist in audits, pulling and coping information
 Assists agency early out program with information in payments and adjustment.
 Completes all month end duties for ALL facilities to include keying, reconciling payments and adjustments.(this includes working on weekend and holidays)
 Assists other cashiers/posters and office personnel with payment and adjustments as needed.
 Assists accounting to resolves any out of balance problems.
 Accuracy in keying in payments and adjustments.
 Maintains financial spreadsheets and send them out to Management.
 Pulls all electronic R/A’s for posting
 Needs to run reports on a monthly basis for legacy systems on flat rates. Then adjust accordingly
 Key all recommended bad-debt accounts on a weekly or monthly basis.
 Performs financial class changes on early out, or agency accounts.
 Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Communication/Knowledge:
     Provides accurate and timely written and verbal communication of information in a manner that is understood by all.
     Able to listen, understand, problem-solve, and carry-out duties to ensure the optimal outcome.
     Able to use IT systems in an accurate and proficient manner.
    Collaboration/Teamwork:
     Contributes toward effective, positive working relationships with internal and external colleagues.
  • Demonstrates cooperation, flexibility, reliability, and dependability in all daily work activities and a willingness to collaborate with others for the good of the customer and the organization.


Education/Experience:


 High school graduate or equivalent required
 Prefer at least 2 to 3 years of current experience in an acute care hospital setting
 Must have 10 key knowledge
 Computers skills preferred
Licensure/Certifications: N/A
