Job Description and Job Responsibilites

Job Title:  Manager of Perioperative Services

Job Summary:

A Registered nurse with 24 hour responsibility for clinical and administrative management of nursing services for area of oversight. Responsible and accountable for coordinating and supervising the nursing care provided to patients having operative or other invasive procedures (GI lab, Same Day Surgery etc) on a daily basis. Reports to the Chief Nursing Officer or designee.

Essential Job Duties: 

  • Assists with the operational and fiscal management of the department on a daily basis
  • Ensures staff members provide safe patient care in the area at all times
  • Incorporates and assists staff with assimilating evidenced based knowledge into decisions for the provision of safe patient care
  • Coordinating, facilitating and managing change within the department
  • Provides guidance, support and constructive feedback to perioperative team
  • Serves as a role model for the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization and fulfills other job duties as requested within Scope of Practice
  • Maintains current competencies as well as updated knowledge in specific area of practice

Job Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of perioperative experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Working knowledge of Surgery Scheduling systems

Licensure/Certifications:

  • RN in good standing with California Board of Nursing
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Provider Card
  • Current ACLS for Health Care Provider Card
  • Pals, CNOR prefered
