Job Description and Job Responsibilites

Job Title: EVS Lead Tech

Job Summary: 

Performs under the supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor.  Provides guidance and assistance for all EVS Technicians who perform skilled and semi-skilled cleaning duties.  The Lead EVS Technician is also assigned cleaning duties and projects to ensure a clean and safe environment to the community and patients that the Hospital serves.  In addition, the EVS Lead is responsible to ensure that the EVS Technicians are performing the 7 step cleaning procedures and all other job related functions satisfactorily, as they are performed, and offers timely and appropriate guidance when needed.  Assists the EVS Supervisor in conducting training for employees, and relays proper feedback to the EVS Supervisor regarding the performance of the EVS Technicians and issues.

Essential Job Duties: 

  • Knowledge in cleaning procedures and ability to train staff.

  • Knowledge of all Environmental tasks assignments.

  • Demonstrates how to handle complaint standards consistently.

  •  Performs assignments as directed by EVS Supervisor.

  • Contributes to the maintenance of a safe environment    for patients, visitors and employee’s by identifying, correcting and/or reporting health and safety hazards to appropriate personnel.

  • Cleaning of all patient rooms after the patient has been discharged.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • High school graduate or job-related work experience equivalent.

  • Two (2) years hospital EVS experience preferred.

Licensure/Certifications:  N/A

ADA/Physical Demands:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
