Job Title:  Human Resources Generalist

Job Summary:

Performs under the supervision of the Human Resources Director.  Specific areas of responsibility include employee relations; coordination of HR specific litigation; data aggregation and report compilation; attendance at assigned committee meetings; may be responsible for the intermediate supervision of Human Resource staff.


Essential Job Duties:
 

  • Acts as a resource for employees and managers regarding human resource policies and procedures.
  • Facilitates the resolution of employee grievances and claims.
  • Assist in the research, planning, development and implementation of policies & procedures.
  • Conducts employee file audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provides advice and consults with managers on proper documentation and legal requirements for disciplinary action, evaluation and termination process.
  • Assures that hospital employment, labor relations and equal opportunity policies and practices comply with federal and state laws.
  • Attend meetings as assigned for the purpose of statistical reporting and providing HR perspective.
  • Assist in the establishment and maintenance of appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of HR development.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in understanding of confidentiality, customer relation standards, support and maintain the Hospital mission.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain an organized work area.
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead and work effectively with co-workers and/or independently.
  • Demonstrates the ability to research and aggregate information and distribute accordingly.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess and prioritize tasks and job assignments.
  • Demonstrates the ability to understand and convey both the hospital-wide and departmental procedures.
  • Demonstrates the ability to coordinate multiple activities/projects in the department.
  • Demonstrates performance of good customer service such as phone courtesy; staff/management/physician courtesy; when necessary, problem referral to the manager or director/supervisor.

Leadership Functions:
 

  • Demonstrates management skills including the ability to plan, prioritize, organize, analyze, execute on multiple tasks and in collaboration with other hospital departments, assists with providing direction and setting expectations consistent with the goals of the organization.
  • Demonstrates behaviors commensurate with the Vision, Mission and Values and Behavioral Standards of the organization.

Communication/Knowledge:
 

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate with various individuals both inside and outside the organization; and able to understand and create reports/presentations/proposals.
  • Ability to work under stressful situations.
  • Proficient with computer systems including but not limited to MS Office.

 

Job Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • High School graduate required; A.A or equivalent preferred. 
  • A minimum of three (3) years prior hospital human resource experience preferred.

  • None
