Job Description and Job Responsibilites

Job Title:  Bookkeeper

Job Summary:

Reports to Corporate Controller.  The bookkeeper is responsible for assisting the accounting department with the accounting processes for Avanti Hospitals, including communication with hospitals and interface with various departments. Prioritize daily, weekly and monthly tasks with a fast paced and demanding schedule of deadlines.

Essential Job Duties: 

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial, strategic, personnel, salary and other information viewed and used while employed at Avanti Hospitals.
  • Use systems to account for financial transactions; follow bookkeeping policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile bank statements electronically. In load and manipulate electronic data.
  • Maintain general ledger by entering and properly classifying transactions, printing checks, making deposits, invoicing and other accounting transactions.
  • Maintain historical records by filing documents and images in an organized manner and according to established patterns.
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing financial information and trends.
  • Assist with the gathering of records for financial and other audits.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements;
  • Pay close attention to details and handle high volume of transaction-related tasks.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely using standard accounting vocabulary and terms.
  • Contribute to team effort by assisting others with tasks as directed and accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Assist with budget preparations
  • Assist with tax return preparation.
  • Assist with generation of 1099s.
  • Prepare appropriate schedules and reports as requested.




Job Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • Two year experience as bookkeeper or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Understanding and experience writing queries and using reporting parameters.
  • Understanding of financial statements (BS, P&L, SCF), payables, receivables, invoicing.
  • Experience with online banking procedures including account transfers.
  • Proficiency in manipulating, storing and retrieving data using electronic means.

 

Job Requirements
