Job Description and Job Responsibilites

Job Title: Administrative Assistant / Customer Service

Job Summary:  Performs secretarial and general office work as well as maintains the physical environment of the Department under the supervision of the System Director and the CBO Director.

Reports To: CBO Supervisor  and/or CBO Director

Essential Job Duties:  

  • Answers telephone calls and routine inquiries make necessary connections to proper personnel in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Appropriately screens all phone calls for Director
  • Assists patients and third-party payors in resolving problems on various accounts.
  • Demonstrates responsibility for opening and routing departmental correspondence.
  • Reports to patient phone calls and requests in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Responsible for telephone messages when other business office employees are unavailable.
  • Assists walk-in patients and working correspondence in accordance with departmental policies
  • Assists Financial Counselor in account follow-up
  • Sorts and opens all incoming mail on a daily basis
  • Assist with pulling documents for audits
  • Performs scanning of documents
  • Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • Prefer at least 2 to 3 years of current experience in an acute care hospital setting
  • Excellent customer service skills

Licensure/Certifications:  N/A
