The Quality Analyst-Stroke Coordinator position provides leadership and promotes excellence in the management of stroke patient care for the hospital.  This position assists in the planning, directing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating the effectiveness of the accredited stroke program which promotes safety and wellbeing of all patients in the system.  The Quality Analyst-Stroke Coordinator has a strong clinical acumen in stroke care including knowledge of program protocols that ensure facility integration of service in the care of the defined population for the purpose of maximizing positive health care outcomes.    Builds and maintains strategic relationships.  Manages conflict and competing imperatives.  Coordinates and oversees the ongoing CQI process to improve the care of the patient population.

Requires knowledge of Federal and State regulatory agency standards related to health care organizations.  Has cognitive and technical knowledge and the ability to progressively manage care delivery across the continuum of care.  Retrieves, communicates and presents data and information both verbally and in writing.  Must be familiar with abstraction of all programs related to the certifications.  Needs to be fluent with the following programs/databases: GWTG Stroke. 

Job Requirements:

•         Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing with the completion of a BSN.  Will consider RN working towards this degree.

•         Current professional nurse license issued and/or recognized by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas. 

•         5+ years nursing experience, strong computer skills.  Leadership, communication & organizational skills required.  Current regulatory knowledge (CMS and Joint Commission). Strong experience with service excellence culture.
