Job Description


Responsible for performing Mammography diagnostic services on a daily basis, according to protocols established by the Lead Interpreting Physician and MQSA guidelines. Obtains images of highest quality under minimal direction and supervision.  Responsible for professional performance and decision making in accordance with the clinical, fiscal and organizational objectives of the department and hospital.


1.       Completion of an Allied Health Education and AMA approved program in Radiology

2.       Current ARRT, Mammography Certification and IEMA licensure

3.       Completion of 200 mammograms and 15 mammography CEUs

4.       TOMO Certified in 3D mammography

5.       CPR certification

6.       Excellent interpersonal communication skills 

7.       Ability to handle information in a sensitive and tactful manner 


Exercised:            None.  May orient new staff members to the practical procedures of the department.


Received:              Reports to the Senior Mammography Technologist.  Receives general supervision from the senior Mammography Technologist, Operations Manager, Chief Administrative Officer and the Medical Director of Radiology


Utilizes good communication skills in daily interactions with patients, families, physicians, unit and hospital personnel.   May have occasional contact with vendors. Adjusts patient interaction and/or treatment to match each patient’s age-specific developmental, educational, or other related needs.
