Performs Radiological Procedures at a technical level sufficient to provide adequate diagnosis. Assists physician in performing Radiological Procedures on patients’ ranging in age from pediatric to geriatric. Establishes and maintains quality control procedures for the Imaging Services Department

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent. At least two years of hospital experience as a Radiologic Technologist Student.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common medical terminology and technical information, and to be easily understood through verbal communication in the English language. Must be able to prepare documentation in a manner that conforms to prescribed style and format, and to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Bilingual skills (Spanish) preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. And calculate technical factors and percentages.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have current California Radiology Technologist license. Must possess current BLS for Health Care Providers card.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee is regularly required to lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 10 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds, with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
