Job Description

White Rock Medical Center is currently seeking Paramedics in the Emergency Room (ER) Department for full-time opportunities. 

Day and Night Shift.

Required Skills:

•         Must have one year of experience as an EMT-Paramedic

•         May have equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of state experience

•         Must be licensed as an EMT-Paramedic in the State of Texas

•         Must have current healthcare provider CPR certification

•         Must have current ACLS certification

•         Must be able to communicate effectively with personnel of other departments, nurses, physicians, and patients.


•         Assists physicians and nursing staff in the care and treatment of Emergency Department patients

•         Maintains continuous collection of data on the status of the patients

•         Must demonstrate enthusiasm and eagerness to perform a variety of assigned duties

•         Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors

•         Performs specified patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse

•         The activities may include collection of urine specimens (routine and clean-catch); performing lab procedures (i.e. pregnancy tests); performing phlebotomy to include blood glucose, basic lab draw and blood cultures, performing 12-lead EKG’s, applying cardiac monitor and pulse oximeter; and taking and recording vital signs.

•         The activities may include obtaining blood samples and urinary catheter insertion, etc., as directed

•         Documents observations, results, and patient care activities in the medical record

•         Communicates observations and results to the Registered Nurse

•         Assists with cardiopulmonary resuscitation as needed to ensure timely patient care

•         Assists with wound care, suture tray set-up and simple dressings as directed by physician or nurse to ensure patient needs are met

•         Assists patients with activities of daily living, comfort, and safety measures to ensure patient care

•         Transports patients to other care/diagnostic areas ensuring that patients arrive safely patients during transport, as necessary

•         Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department
