Job Summary:

Performs under the supervision of the HIM Supervisor. This position ensures timely completion and reporting of delinquent medical records for various Medical Staff Committees. Customer service focused. Production of accurate suspension list to be distributed Hospital wide. To include any and all other duties assigned by the HIM Director and or Supervisor.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Sends out notification of incomplete/delinquent charts to appropriate physicians in a timely manner.
  • Revises/updates suspension lists in a timely manner and distributes list accordingly.
  • Call physicians’ office at a minimum 2 times a week to remind of their incomplete/delinquent records.
  • Assists physicians with record completion in the EMR.
  • Gather statistics daily and reports monthly H&P, OP Reports to HIM Supervisor for Committee meetings.
  • Maintains incomplete record rate below 50% of discharges at least 90% of the time.
  • Prepares physician’s suspension list after sending physician’s first notices and sending physicians suspension notices 48 hours prior to actual suspension.
  • Performs other duties assigned to me by my Director/Supervisor.

Education/Experience:

  • High school graduate or some college course work.
  • Prefer at least 2 years of current experience in an acute care setting
