Job Description

  • Daily Operations: Assigns clinical supervision of patient treatments and recordkeeping. Monitors caseload balance. Determines staffing requirements. Establishes and organizes work schedules, holidays, rotations, vacations and coverage for staff absences. Serves as the Rehabilitation service line representative. Participates in hospital-wide committee and task force participation. Serves as a liaison with internal and external interdisciplinary team to facilitate problem solving and coordination of services.
  • Service Line Strategic Planning: Collaborates interdisciplinary Rehabilitation service line strategic and marketing plan. Sets goals and objectives for own team and directs the efforts of department leaders and staff toward acccomplishing those goals and objectives.
  • Budgeting and Finance: Identifies needs in planning program development. Establishes and monitors insurance verification and reimbursement processes, makes final decisions on questionable verification issues. Develops and monitors departmental budgets.
  • Maintaining Quality and Performance: Develops departmental procedures. Set and maintains standards for service to patients, physicians, and other hospital departments. Maintains and monitors compliance for CMS, TJC, OSHA, IDFPR, & IDPH regulatory standards, and LCD changes.

5. Staff recruitment and development: Recruits, interviews and hires job candidates. Oversees and conducts orientation of new staff, including the assignment of a mentor. Evaluates the work performance of management, clinical, and support staff. Carries out progressive disciplinary action when indicated. Maintains and recommends performance improvement, obtains feedback, and recommends necessary actions. Development and maintenance of staff performance/competency standards. Identifies and provides educational resources to other staff members in areas of treatment programs, patient care and administrative procedures. Coordination of the departments continuing education activities. Collaborates with others responsible for organization-wide education to ensure that learning needs are identified and addressed. Serves as a resource for student affiliation programs, as indicated.

Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
